Welcome to another fantastic year! My name is Stacy Matthews and I teach 8th grade and Coordinated science. This is my 18th year at Heatherwood and my 24th year teaching. All of my teaching experience has been in middle school and I have taught mostly 8th grade science. Before teaching at Heatherwood, I taught middle school science in California for 6 years.

I have a BA in Liberal Studies with a minor in Environmental Studies. I also have an MS in Geosciences with an emphasis in teaching and my National Board Certificate in Early Adolescent Science. In addition, I have completed several post-graduate courses at the University of Washington in physics. 

I am very excited to teach 8th grade science again this year along with Coordinated Science and I look forward to working together!
