    Dear Seagull families,

It is with great excitement that I begin a second year in service to the Seagull students and community.  This school community has a rich history, an incredible diversity, and a lot of heart.  I am so proud to lead the Seagulls in the quest for academic, athletic, and social excellence.

At Everett High School, our staff mission is to collectively ensure that each student learns and grows at high levels. The word “collectively” implies a team at work, and parents and students are part of the very important team that serves each student.  We value the voice of all stakeholders.  We want feedback and opinions, even if they are hard to hear.  It is our dedication to our mission that drives us each day.  Everything we do is to align with this mission statement.  We hope you’ll partner with us in this worthy mission.

This year is a momentous one-we are returning to school fully in-person.  Students have become acclimated to either staying home or very small hybrid classes.  It is important to recognize that this will be an adjustment for our students.  We will focus on socio-emotional learning, culturally responsive teaching, and high leverage instructional strategies.

Our theme for this school year is MISSION POSSIBLE because we believe in our mission and in the unlimited potential of our students and staff.  I would like to extend a call to action to all reading this letter-get involved with the school.  Be part of the “collective” that ensures that all Seagulls learn and grow at high levels.

    Yours in education,

    Amanda M. Overly, MS
