• logo Dear Students and families,

Welcome to the 2022-23 academic year. I hope you had a great and restful summer inspite of the times. With this being our first full year back since the pandemic, it will take some adjusting to get back into the flow of things. Some things will remain the same, but some cannot and will change.

As a teacher, my focus is on student learning, but I also realize that we all need to take care of ourselves in the process. And so, the social emotional needs of all my students is very important as we try to navigate our way back into some semblance of normalcy. Please do not hesitate to ask for help if you feel the need.

My students are English Language learners from beginning to intermediate from all over the world. Best practice for language acquisition is face-to-face instruction and interaction, and so I will highly encourage students to attend class everyday.

I use Canvas for announcements, but for our class content, we mostly use OneNote. Student grades are also updated in the grade book often and so, if you need information about grades, check the district Gradebook.

I am very pleased to have you in my class this year and I look forward to a great school year ahead.

    Cynthia Kamanyi
