Welcome to Mr. Black's Class
-
Please read in your independent reading book for about 20 minutes each day. If you don't have one, get one. After reading, open your reading journal, or create one on a Word.doc or Google.doc, and write a two to three sentence summary of what you read, or write two or three questions that you have about the reading, or make a connection to what you just read and write about it.
Also, in order to improve your writing fluency, you need to write in your writing journal as often as you can. Writing fluency is a student's ability to write with a natural flow and rhythm. It helps get the ideas that are in your brain to the paper or computer. Don't worry about spelling when writing in your journal.
Create or open your writing journal document on Word or Google.doc. Then try to write seven to ten sentences every day about something new or interesting that you learned or did during the day, plans that you have for the week, good shows, movies, or games that you are playing, or anything else that is in your mind.
Thank you for working.
