Even though this is not a typical school year, we will embark on an engaging year of learning, growth and inquiry. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your student this year!
For the 2020-2021 school year, I will be teaching World History, AP World History and EL World History. My world history courses are centered on my belief that history and social studies equip students with critical thinking skills and knowledge that will prepare them to be engaged, active individuals in both their local and global communities. Learning about world history provides us with the wonderful opportunity to understand different perspectives, make connections between the past and present, and cultivate historical thinking skills such as argumentation, contextualization and evidence-based analysis.
Class information will be available and updated on Canvas. Email is the best way to get in contact with me. I am happy to answer any questions, share class information and/or set up a meeting. Partnering with families and students to create equitable and enriching learning opportunities is important to me, so please do not hesitate to reach out!
This is my second year at Jackson High School and I love being part of the Timberwolf family! I have a BA in History from Carleton College and my Master of Arts in Education from Stanford University. Here's to a fantastic year!
