School Closure Update: All student engagement materials will be posted on Canvas. I will be providing updates via email - please reach out with questions or concerns.
Welcome to our class website! I am looking forward to getting to know you and your student this year. We will embark on an engaging year of learning, growth and inquiry.
For the 2019-2020 school year, I will be teaching World History, AP World History and EL World History. My history courses are centered on my belief that history and social studies equip students with critical thinking skills and knowledge that will prepare them to be engaged, active individuals in both their local and global communities. Learning about world history provides us with the wonderful opportunity to understand different perspectives, make connections between the past and present, and cultivate historical thinking skills such as argumentation, contextualization and evidence-based analysis.
Class information will be available and updated on Canvas. Email is the best way to get in contact with me. I am happy to answer any questions, share class information and/or set up a meeting. Partnering with families and students to create equitable and enriching learning opportunties is important to me, so please do not hesitate to reach out!
This is my first year at Jackson High School and I am so excited to be a part of the Timberwolf family! I have a BA in History from Carleton College and my Master of Arts in Education from Stanford University. Here's to a fantastic year!
