Welcome to Sports Medicine 1! This class is a science and occupational/elective credit and can lead to Sports Med 1 & 2, which are more in depth and also has a lab experience component. You will learn CPR/AED/1st Aid and athletic taping. We will also explore health careers and study skeletal and muscle anatomy. Medical terminology is another topic and you will get the definitions for 120 terms. All of this is information you will use throughout your life.
I am a certified Athletic Trainer with almost 40 years of experience. I have worked at NCAA Division and NAIA schools, with junior high and high schools, semi-pro football and the Seattle Storm. I've worked in clinics as well as spending weekends for 3 falls at 60 Acres in Redmond. I have a lot of stories to share that illustrate the information presented in these classes.
