    Theme: Sand Castle Life

Create an imaginary play scene together. (This type of play supports their emotional and social development by looking through different perspectives, expressing character’s feelings, working together, and etc.)

Here are some tips to get started:

*Remember this is imaginary play. You don’t have to go to the beach. Pretend.

Is it at the beach, or backyard, or your bedroom,   etc.?

    Who lives in your castle?

*King, queen, princess, mermaid, dragon, knight

How can the mermaid get around on land?

       *crawls, skips, flies, or legs

What types of food do they eat?

    *seafood, pizza, mac and cheese

    Who are the characters that

      live there?

It is more fun if there are more than

     1 character.

What is the name of your castle?

    Is your dragon fire breathing

        or nice?

Paint or draw a picture of your castle. Remember to use lots of details and label them.

You can actually build a castle at the beach or sand playgrounds or you can use

T.P. rolls to make buildingsuse those empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls to create a sand castle.

Here is an idea to help you get started:

    Toilet Paper Roll Building

Using sand (if you are at the beach or sand playground), buckets, shovels, a fork/spoon/knife (to give the outside a special texture) paper/fabric to create a drawbridge and flags, shells, and little play dolls.

Send a picture of you with your castle to your teacher. I can’t wait to see them.
