Example: Come with me to the park.

Send a picture of your sentences and pictures to your teacher!

    2

    Draw 4 things

Draw and label 4 things that begin with our letter of the week. Since Xx is a little tricky, you can draw 4 things that have an X in the word. (Example- FOX

    3

    Writing Sight Words

Write your new sight words, as well as the ones you are still having trouble with, with 4 different colors or writing utensils (pencil, crayon, marker, colored pencil OR, 4 different colors).

    4

Review all of the Alphabet by playing one (or both) of the following:

    I have, Who has

Use or create your own alphabet cards by putting an uppercase and lowercase letter on each card.

Take turns asking each other for the card you are looking for. Works best if you have more than 2 people to play.

When you ask for each letter, make sure you also practice saying what sound it makes. (Example: I have… Uppercase M, mmmmm, who has lowercase m, mmmmm? I have lowercase L, LLLLLL etc.)

    Alphabet Memory

Turn over upper and lowercase letter cards..

Take turns flipping over 2 cards at a time, naming the letter and sound of the letter that is on the card.

If you did not make a match, put them back, face down. Try to remember where the cards are, so it will help you make a match later!

If you make a match, you get to keep them.

Whoever has the most matches at the end WINS!

    5

    Hide and Seek

Hide sight word cards around your home. Have your child try to find all of the sight words, and have them read the word to you as they find it.

Make a pile of cards that your child did not know right away, and practice those flash cards once all the hidden cards are found. A list of all of our kindergarten sight words is below.
