About JHS Key Club
Who Are We?
We are one of the many schools that make up Division 21. There is a total of 12 schools that make up Division 21. These schools are Jackson, Edmonds Woodway, Glacier Peak, Kamiak, Lake Stevens, Lynnwood, Mariner, Meadowdale, Monroe, Mountlake Terrace, Snohomish and Cascade. Our division is one of the many that make up the Pacific Northwest District.
When Do We Meet?
We meet the 1st and 3rd Thursday every month. We will be meeting in either the Commons/Annex or Kalina's room (C124). Our events generally last half an hour and start at 2:10 (right after school).
How Can You Join?
At our 1st meeting of the 2017-2018 school year (currently set for September 21st but this is subject to change), you will be able to sign up as an official Key Club member. Make sure you have an ASB card (it is a requirement to be a member of any club at Jackson).
How Do You Stay A Member?
We have certain requirements to stay an active member. You need to pay your dues ($25), attend 50% of the meetings (we make an exception for students that play sports) and meet the hour requirement for each semester. The hour requirement is 10 hours a semester making a total of 20 for the year. Depending on which events you choose to go to, it can only take a couple of events to meet this requirement.
How Do You Stay Connected As A Member?
At The Club Level: We hold an icebreaker at every meeting to help get to know all the members and hold a couple of socials during the year to get to know members in a less formal setting. We also have a Facebook page for all the members of our club. Club Facebook Page At The Divisional Level: Every month, our LTG holds a DCM for anyone in the division that wants to come. They are held in various locations throughout our division boundaries. The DCM's are different every month. In the past, there has been ice skating, talent shows, dances, award ceremonies and field days at the park. They range from formal to informal depending on the type of event being held. Regardless of the event. it is an easy way to make new friends that will last a lifetime. There is also a Facebook page for the division. Division Facebook Page At The District Level: At the end of the service year (the end of March), there is a convention for all the divisions in the PNW district. This convention is called DCON. We are happy to say that we will be going to DCON 2018. At DCON, you will be able to meet people from all over our district. There is also the opportunity to win the spirit stick (our division won it at DCON 2017 and hopefully we can bring it back again at DCON 2018). Just like our club and division, there is a Facebook page for our district. District Facebook Page
