CRC card readers and ADA operators
June 9, 2021: All work to add card readers and ADA operators at the CRC are complete.
March 10, 2021: The new card readers have been installed at the CRC but have not been activated. Later this week, the contractor will install additional wiring, request to exit devices and door contacts. The contractor will program the system and make operational in the coming weeks.
January 20, 2021: A contract has been issued for the access control upgrade project at the CRC. Work is anticipated to begin in April.
December 4, 2020: Bids for the access control upgrade project at the CRC are expected next week.
November 5, 2020: The access control upgrade project at the CRC is in the bid phase.
October 24, 2020: The access control upgrade project at the CRC is in the process of being engineered.

Property line staking has been completed at Forest View in preparation of fencing installation. Fence installation will occur in mid-July. At Hawthorne ES the contract has completed all the cabling and is installing the access control and door hardware.

Property line staking has been completed at Forest View in preparation of fencing installation. The contract has been issued to the contractor, who is purchasing materials for the access control system at Hawthorne.

The fencing at Forest View and access control system at Hawthorne are out to bid.

Design work has begun for the addition of new fencing at Forest View’s parking lot and the addition of exterior doors to the ACS system at Hawthorne ES.

Work in the summer of 2020 may include the addition of new fencing and gates to secure the Forest View parking lot, and additional doors at Hawthorne being added to the access control system.

Work was completed this summer at Emerson, Garfield, Hawthorne, Whittier, Jefferson, Lowell, Silver Lake elementary schools and Jackson HS. The scope of work included constructing walls and doors at strategic interior locations, which create a secure entry vestibule. The new doors are controlled by the existing access control system, thereby enabling the office staff to remotely unlock the new vestibule doors to allow a properly badged visitor access into the classroom wings. Also, new doors were added in the corridors at some of the listed schools to further separate the private classroom wings from the public spaces in the schools. New fencing was installed at Lowell, Emerson, Madison and Jefferson elementary schools to better secure the schools perimeters.

Notices to Proceed were sent to LBC Construction & JCK Enterprises for the vestibule upgrades in the north and south regions respectively.  Construction is expected to start 6/24. The RFQ invitation to bid was sent out for the fencing at four elementary schools and bids are due 6/21.

On May 7 the board approved the bid award for the four vestibule upgrades in the north region to LBC Construction.  Approval to award the bid for the four vestibule upgrades in the south region is planned for Jun 4.  Drawings for fencing at Lowell & Emerson elementary schools will be finalized for bid in June.

The bid for the four vestibules upgrade in the north region is due April 18.  The solicitation for bid for the four vestibules upgrades in the south region was approved by the board on April 9 and will advertise starting on 4/15 & 4/22.  Drawings for fencing at Lowell & Emerson elementary schools will be finalized this month to go out for bid.
