In the days and weeks ahead, I'll be practicing a lot of what I learned in OT school back at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND.  While the term "Community" conjures up different images in this time of school closure due to the Covid-19, it's still critical to maintain connections- with students, parents and colleagues.  "Service" will continue, with resources provided on the district website to practice important fine/gross motor skills as well as self-regulation activities at https://www.everettsd.org/Page/31233.  Finally, practice "Hospitality" and "Moderation" in how you connect with the people around you.  Continue to be kind and pay attention to how your "engine" is running.  Take breaks when you need to, do some heavy work like push-ups or hand squishes to stay calm and focused, and have fun with new activities.  When we get back to school, I'll let you teach me your three favorites!
