EHS Volunteer Program
Thanks to the many EHS volunteers who so generously gave their time and talents last year at Everett High School assisting in various capacities in the education process .
Whether assisting in the office or classroom, chaperoning, helping with sporting, music or drama events, senior project reviews or participating in a campus clean-up, volunteers have been an active and integral part of the education partnership with staff on our campus. We value that commitment to EHS, our students and staff. Our administration is eager to expand the level of volunteer presence during lunch hours and mentor/tutor time with students. Even if you only have an hour or two all year, we'd love to have you engage with our school. The District Volunteer forms currently approve volunteers for 3 years and the district will notify you when your application is about to expire. Below you will find the online volunteer approval packet. All parents and community members must have approved District Volunteer Applications on file to participate in the volunteer program in any capacity. We also encourage all interested volunteers to complete the EHS Volunteer Interest Form so they can be contacted for volunteer opportunities in their specific interest areas throughout the year.Thank you,Barbara LichneckertReceptionist/SecretaryMain OfficeEverett High School

Getting started as a volunteer
Our district's volunteer application process has changed and is now online only. The steps below will help guide you through the application process.
Each year we receive thousands of volunteer applications, and processing can take up to two weeks. Please plan ahead.
1. Select the category of volunteer for which you wish to apply
School Day Volunteer: volunteers who work in close proximity of district employees. Volunteer activities may include reading or math tutor, classroom helper, day field trip chaperone, library helper, or Watch D.O.G.S.
Extended Support Volunteer: volunteers who have potential of not being in direct proximity of a district employee and who provide substantial assistance. Volunteer activities may include overnight chaperone, volunteer club advisor, and program booster.
Volunteer Athletic Coach: volunteers who support middle and high school athletic teams.
2. Begin your online application
All volunteer applications are processed via an online platform. Please create an account and then select the volunteer type for which you wish to apply.
The online volunteer application is only available in English.
Application guides designed to help applicants through the online process are coming soon and will be available in Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian and Arabic.
3. Provide information for background checks
School employees each undergo a background check before being authorized to work in our schools. Similarly, each volunteer candidate must undergo a background check. The type of volunteer activity determines the type of background check.
School Day Volunteers: Washington State Patrol criminal history
Extended Support Volunteers: Washington State Patrol criminal history and National Sex Offender registry
Volunteer Athletic Coach: Washington State Patrol criminal history, National Sex Offender registry and fingerprinting
While all volunteers must be screened through the background check processes, a criminal history does not automatically disqualify one from volunteering. If there is a concern, an applicant will have the opportunity to talk with a Human Resource representative. (In such cases you may request to provide personal references for additional follow up.)
4. Complete safety training and requirements
A volunteer's training is determined by the type of volunteer activity. As outlined in the application process, all volunteer applicants are required to review the district's volunteer manual. Translated versions of manual are available in Arabic, Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese.
Extended Support Volunteers and Volunteer Athletic Coaches also require online safety training, and upload of a photo identification. Volunteer Athletic Coaches require additional Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) training.
A designated individual at the school or program with which you wish to volunteer will provide you with a volunteer orientation, including sign in/out and badge processes.
