External Course Approval Process
(excluding Running Start)
Reminder: Select the underlined/green links below to go directly to the applicable websites.
PLEASE READ FIRST: Students may opt to take an online, out-of-district and/or community college course through an accredited program to earn credits needed for high school graduation. The student is responsible for all costs of the program including transportation, tuition, books, and fees. Please see the Everett Public Schools District Policy and WA State administrative code regarding community college and correspondence courses.
The main frustrations that students have communicated regarding external programs is not having the teacher in their classroom to contact when questions arise and needing to find proctors for the exams (a student cannot use JHS Staff as proctors due to programs not being affiliated with JHS).
Before registering/paying for out-of-district, community college and most online courses (see options below), please complete and return:
Once the course is completed, you will need to send an official transcript/course completion certificate to the Jackson HS Registrar in order for the course to be added to your high school transcript: JHSTranscripts@everettsd.org.
