Summer Internship Program

Career Link – Internship (.5 CTE Credit)
Geared Toward: Current 10th and 11th Grade students (if 16 or older by June 15)
Structure: 90-hour in person job internship (days/times may vary)
Description:
- The Everett School District is partnered with the City of Everett to create the Everett Career Link program.
- The program serves to link local businesses with emerging local talent for a 90-hour summer internship.
- While unpaid, students will receive .5 CTE/Elective credit for this summer opportunity.
- The program gives students a chance to “learn before they earn” by showing what it is like to work in a specific job or work environment while earning credit.
- The internship program is targeted towards current sophomores and juniors from all four high schools.
- In addition to the internship, this program also includes:
- Networking building skills
- Resume support
- Interview practice
Internship Timeline:
- Jan 1–March 31: Students apply for Everett Career Link Internship
- April: Students will meet with Mrs. Youngberg to view available internships and select top choices
- May: Internship offer letters sent to students and business introductions are scheduled
- June: Internship details determined with business (schedule, job duties, etc.)
- July–August: Hands-on internships take place (dates and time are determined between business and student)
Selection Process:
- Students indicate their career area interest on their application
- Internship coordinator conducts one-on-one interviews in April
- Internship placement based on:
- one-on-one interviews
- available opportunties
- previous ECL program completion
- grade level priority (current juniors have priority)
