• Will the gradebook integration for Google Classroom be set up with Synergy?

    Posted by:
Synergy does have a Google integration but it's part of their internal Synergy LMS which would give us three LMS systems being used in the district. We are concerned that it would cause confusion for students and guardians as well as teachers, and we don't want to layer that on in the first year of learning a new system. We are also already taking on a lot of new learning of our own with this project and had to be strategic about choosing our priorities.

Canvas is the learning management system we support and pay for as a district, so we are going to be setting up the gradebook sync between Canvas and Synergy to start with. I know it's frustrating for people who've chosen to go with Google classroom, but we will have some support for folks who are ready to move to Canvas to take advantage of the gradebook syncing.

  • Why is there a blackout date for eSchoolPlus?

    Posted by:

The blackout date is the last day anyone can access eSchoolPlus. This will last until we go live with the new system in July.

The blackout period gives us a window of time when Synergy will migrate the last of our data over to the Synergy system and prepare us to "go live". It is a difficult process to do when a system is still being actively used because data will get missed. Having a blackout date allows us a window to most thoroughly and effectively ensure all of our data gets where it needs to go.

This will create some challenges and changes in practice prior to June 27th at 4pm:

    1) All school schedules need to be completed and verified before June 27th at 4pm.

    2) All students who are enrolled by the end of the school year will need to be scheduled into classes before June 27th at 4pm.

    3) Work typically done during the first few weeks of July will need to be rescheduled before or after the blackout window because no one will have access to either system during the window from June 27at 4pm - July 18th.

  • What tools are going away and being replaced by Synergy?

    Posted by: Karen Hickenbottom

We are quite excited that 8 of our current tools have a Synergy counterpart that we'll be able to use. Having one tool to learn means fewer passwords to remember, fewer interfaces to learn and a much more integrated experience for everyone. Here's  a list of what is going away:

    eSchoolPlus

    TAC/LMS Gradebook

    Home Access Center

    Insight

    Perforamance Matters

    Special Programs

    Power School

    Incidents & Referrals
