Everett High Main Building mechanical upgrades (completed)

The project included replacing two existing roof top air handling units, which had reached the end of their useful life, with new energy efficient roof top air handling units. The existing obsolete HVAC controls system was upgraded with a new controls system.  Other work included updating various pumps, strainers, valves and motor controllers.

The contractor reports completion of all open items.  These need to be checked by the A/E team and then the final documents can be completed.

Test & Balance work has been completed.  Commissioning is 95% complete.  A very little bit of punch list work remains.

The two new roof top units were successfully set and are being hooked up.  Startup is scheduled for 8/17/18 and 8/20/18.

Installation of the new control system has begun.  The two new roof top units are schedule to be lifted into place 8/13/18.  Connections and startup to follow.

Demolition of the existing controls and valves is underway.  Work is progressing well for replacing the two roof top units on about 8/13/18.

The board has approved the award of bid to the low bidder, Johansen Mechanical.  The paperwork necessary for getting them under contract has been initiated.

Facilities & Planning are now accepting bids for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) upgrades at Everett High School. The base bid includes replacement of the two rooftop mechanical units and the entire mechanical control system. The architect's estimated construction cost is $1,050,000 for the base bid and is funded by the 2016 Capital Bond. Bids are due Tuesday, April 17, 2018.

Construction Documents have been through internal review and are nearing completion.  We will request board approval at the regular 3/20/18 meeting of the call for bids for the project.

The roofing consultant identified that the roof remains serviceable and it is desirable to wait until after the exterior renovation has been completed in the summer of 2019 before re-roofing.  The re-roof design continues and will be held until after the exterior work has been completed.  The mechanical design continues and is being prepared for bidding in April.

The design team is under contract and preliminary investigations have taken place. The work is expected to take place in the summer of 2018.
