June 2, 2021
The fan wheels and motors were changed as needed and the ERVs now match factory specs. The Test & Balance contractor is on-site today to balance the ERVs. Commissioning can then follow to complete the project.
May 13, 2021
Chiller startup and all trainings have been completed. Work on the return ductwork for ERV-1 has increased integrity significantly to a very good level. Fan wheels are expected to be swapped to correct sizes in ERV-1 and ERV-2 in late May, enabling work to be completed.
April 28, 2021
The chiller startup and training is scheduled for 5/7/2021. Preliminary Test & Balance work has been completed and was stopped until duct integrity can be addressed. Training for boilers, pumps and building automation is also scheduled for 5/7/2021. Punch list work is nearly complete.
April 9, 2021
All startups, except for the chiller, have been completed, the boilers are running and there is heat in the building. Test & Balance work is underway, along with commissioning.
March 11, 2021
Startups have begun this week for the three energy recovery units. Water treatment are boiler startups are planned for next week. The DDC controls and fire alarm contractors are both performing point-to-point verifications on their systems. The commissioning kick-off meeting was held earlier this week.
February 16, 2021
The chiller arrived and has been set. All air handling units have been set. All trades are busy installing and hooking up the equipment, ductwork, piping and electrical connections.
January 20, 2021
Water heaters, boilers, pumps and fan coil units have been received and some items are set in place. The chiller pad has been poured and is ready for the new chiller. Pipe routing within the building has been determined and is underway.
November 30, 2020
Staff has been relocated off site and the mechanical units have been removed from the building. The pad for the new chiller has been cut to rough grade and trenching has begun for the chilled water lines. Rough-in work has begun inside the building.
November 1, 2020
Work has begun on site. The contractors are mobilizing and planning their work. Demolition of the existing mechanical units is to begin this week.
October 20, 2020
The contractor will have their superintendent on site starting next week. A preliminary schedule has been provided and contractors are preparing to mobilize and begin work on the new chiller pad and electrical infrastructure.
October 1, 2020
The contractor is verifying equipment lead times, subcontractor availability and is compiling this into a project schedule. Submittals have started coming in. The contractor plans to do some portions of the work early, before the long lead equipment arrives.
September 15, 2020
The Contract Between the Owner and Contractor has been signed by both parties and Notice to Proceed has been issued. The team is working on submittals for the long lead items, which will be the controlling factor for the schedule.
September 1, 2020
The Letter of Award and Contract between the Owner and Contractor have been provided to Kassel. They are working on the documents they need to provide in order to get the contract fully signed and Notice to Proceed issued which we expect to happen by mid-September.

Six bids were received, and a request has been submitted for the school board to approve awarding to the apparent low bidder in their 8/25/2020 regular board meeting.
July 31, 2020
Two advertisements were run to announce the project is open for bidding. A pre=bid walk through has been completed. One addendum has been issued. Bids are due on 8/6/2020.
July 15, 2020
Bid documents are being transmitted to Bill’s Blueprint today and the first advertisement will run tomorrow with the second ad and pre-bid conference on 7/23/2020 and bids due on 8/6/2020.
As of July 1, 2020: Plan review comments have been returned to the architect. Paperwork is in place to request authorization to solicit bids at tonight’s 7/1/2020 board meeting. The project continues to track to the schedule.
June 15, 2020
Plans were distributed to stakeholders and review is underway. Preparing documents for the 7/1/2020 board meeting to request authorization to solicit bids.
June 1, 2020
Plans are being submitted for permit today. They are also being submitted for the final estimate and for owner review.
May 15, 2020
Design work is 80% complete. The signal test for first responder radios failed on all building levels, so the fire marshal will require a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) in the building as part of the project. This will boost radio signals throughout. The design team has been instructed to include prepping the building for the system in the project. Work remains on track to submit for permits just after Memorial Day.
April 27, 2020
The final hazmat survey results did not include any surprises and there is very little abatement required during the project. With the design now about 2/3 complete, there is a page-turn design review scheduled with major stakeholders Thursday, 4/30/2020. The local fire marshal has been engaged to coordinate some key points of the design related to the new fire alarm and a first responder radio signal analysis.
April 15, 2020
A structural review of the existing building has been completed and the as-built condition was confirmed to match the original design, allowing existing structure to support the planned loads with minimal changes. A hazardous material due diligence survey has been completed without surprise and final results should be in hand shortly. Architectural, structural and electrical disciplines are all working on their portions of the design while mechanical fleshes out their part. Work is on track for a June permit submittal as planned.
April 1, 2020
The primary components of the new HVAC system are nearly established and that will enable the architectural, structural and electrical portions of the design to begin substantial work. The hazardous material due diligence testing is under contract and due to start in about a week.
March 16, 2020
Design work continues, and preparations are underway for the hazardous material survey.
February 28, 2020
