Silver Firs ES parking lot resurfacing (completed)

This project will include grinding the existing asphalt surface and overlaying with a new asphalt surface, new curbs, and striping. May also include relocating the existing rock retaining wall further west to facilitate additional parking spaces along the west edge of the parking surface.

October 13, 2021
The contractor has completed all elements for the work. A punch list meeting with the architect needs to be scheduled.

September, 1, 2021
The contractor has completed all the paving of the parking lot. He is working on the handrail by the rockery. Due to a nationwide paint supply shortage, the final coat of white paint will need to wait until after school begins. The site is ready for the start of school.

June 9, 2021
All contract documents have been received Olympic paving is under contract. The notice to proceed was issued on June 2, 2021, for work to begin on June 22, 2021. A pre-construction meeting has been scheduled for June 22, 2021.

May 14, 2021
The board approved the award of the bid to Olympic Paving, Inc. The contract documents are in process.

April 14, 2021
Bids were opened on April 13, 2021. There were four bids submitted. The apparent low bidder was Olympic Paving, Inc. It is our plan to go to the board for approval of the bid on May 11, 2021.

April 5, 2021
The pre-bid walkthrough was held on March 23, 2021. Addendum 1 has been issued.

March 10, 2021
The plans and specifications are complete. The project is ready to go out to bid on March 12.

February 16, 2021 
Submitted to board for approval to bid.  

February 10, 2021
The architect is working on the final drawings and specifications. The design team is reviewing the latest estimate, to determine the final scope and cost of the project.

January 12, 2021
The architect and engineer are finalizing the plans and specifications for the revised scope of work. Submit for permitting in February 2021.

December 9, 2020
The architect and engineer are finalizing the plans and specifications for the revised scope of work. Submit for permitting in January 2021.

November 10, 2020
The architect is finalizing the plans for permit submittal and is producing a construction estimate for the work.

October 8, 2020
The scope of the project has expanded to include: Conduits for future electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, conduits to the south of the parking lot for a future electronic readerboard, conduits to the existing light poles for future security cameras, and the removal of a rockery to allow additional parking spaces.

September 24, 2020
This work has been rescheduled for the summer of 2021.
