  • Dual language logo

  • Dual Language Spanish Immersion (K-5) – This program provides an environment for students to develop a higher level of bilingualism and biliteracy skills in both English and Spanish, to become culturally competent and have grade level academic success in both languages. Dual language offers a chance for students to add another language while they are at the optimal age for language learning. The program promotes a sense of unity throughout the neighborhood school. Students in the program become proficient in both Spanish and English while learning the same curriculum content as their peers outside of the program. Immersion students perform in English Language Arts, Math and other areas as well as or often better than their monolingual peers on standardized achievement tests administered in English. Dual Language classes will begin in kindergarten and will progress each year through the 5th grade. Students will continue in the Middle and the High School with appropriately designed programs. This program is currently being offered at Emerson Elementary.

This program is currently being offered at Jefferson Elementary. For more information on the Lighthouse Cooperative please visit: Lighthouse Elementary Cooperative.

  • STEAM Academy is a Choice Program

  • STEAM Academy (K-5) – The purpose of the STEAM Academy is to encourage students who have interests or strengths in the Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Mathematics (STEAM) fields to explore and develop their talents and prepare for a future in the fastest-growing career industries world-wide. STEAM topics are integrated into all aspects of learning, including reading, writing and social studies. The Academy uses the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Launch program. The PLTW Launch curriculum is designed especially for elementary learners. It is aligned with Common Core standards for math and English Language Arts (ELA) and corresponds with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). While this program is still in its pilot phase, it is only for enrolled students at the following schools: Madison Elementary and Woodside Elementary. Currently, the set up of the program rotates the students by class through the STEAM classroom once a week for 45 minutes.

  • Are you looking for an educational option other than a traditional classroom setting or independent homeschooling? We would like to introduce our school and give you a quick overview of our program.

Port Gardner School was originally created in 2002 as a program within the Everett School District to meet the growing need for parents who wanted support and guidance in teaching their children at home.

Welcome! We are excited that you want to know more about our Choice Program Port Gardner K-12. Port Gardner K-12 is a parent partnership program, where parents/guardians are the primary educators of their children. Our program is a blend of on-site classes taught by certificated teachers, and remote classes taught by parents/guardians in the home. Our certificated teachers work as partners with you in a variety of ways: they provide training for parents/guardians to be successful educators in the home, create individualized student learning plans, provide curriculum recommendations, and teach on-site classes for students grade K-12. On-site courses include both core academic areas and electives. High school level classes are credit-bearing and may be used towards earning a diploma through Everett Public Schools.
