Choice programs give families the opportunity to choose the educational program that is best fit for their student. They are designed for and first offered to students who are within the program's school boundary but are available to all Everett Public School students, regardless of the student's zoned neighborhood school. These offerings will allow all students, including our economically disadvantaged and exceptional needs students, the opportunity to participate in creative learning experiences that would typically be unavailable to them.
Choice programs require a choice program application and selection through a choice lottery process.
- Click on the language of your choice to be redirected to the choice programs application form (below).
- You may submit an application for either the Emerson Dual Language Program, or the Lighthouse Cooperative Program.
- New families should enroll using the same account they used to fill out their new student enrollment forms.
- Existing Everett Public Schools families should start the process from Home Access Center (HAC). Click this link for instructions.

Sequoia High School (Grades 9-12)
Sequoia High School (Grades 9-12) - Sequoia High School is an alternative school supporting students. Our school is guided by three principles: choice, equity and relationships. Our school is small, 150 to 200 students and the class size is 15 or fewer. We have 8 academic terms (instead of semesters) and each student is assigned to an advisory class that meets four days a week.
Any student living in the Everett School District who is a high school student (grades 9–12), and will be able to complete all high school credits and requirements by the time they turn 21, is welcome to enroll at Sequoia High School. Students new to the district should fill out the enrollment forms by visiting the district enrollment website. Students already attending an Everett School District high school who are wishing to transfer to Sequoia High School should notify their counselor at their current high school that they would like to transfer to Sequoia.
Students who are currently under suspension or expulsion from another school may attend Sequoia only after the conditions of the re-entry requirements of their home school have been met. Every student entering Sequoia High School is required to complete an enrollment meeting and onboarding program, prior to the term they enter school.
Please visit Sequoia High School or call 425-385-5100 to arrange a meeting with a school counselor or administrator.

STEAM Academy (K-5)
STEAM Academy (K-5) – The purpose of the STEAM Academy is to encourage students who have interests or strengths in the Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Mathematics (STEAM) fields to explore and develop their talents and prepare for a future in the fastest-growing career industries world-wide. STEAM topics are integrated into all aspects of learning, including reading, writing and social studies. The Academy uses the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Launch program. The PLTW Launch curriculum is designed especially for elementary learners. It is aligned with Common Core standards for math and English Language Arts (ELA) and corresponds with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). While this program is still in its pilot phase, it is only for enrolled students at the following schools: Madison Elementary and Woodside Elementary. Currently, the set up of the program rotates the students by class through the STEAM classroom once a week for 45 minutes.
At this time, there is not an application process for the STEAM Academy at Madison and Woodside Elementary Schools. The STEAM Academy is still in its pilot phase and currently every student enrolled at these schools rotates into the STEAM Specialist class once per week. Please contact the Choice Program office choiceprograms@everettsd.org for more information.

If you are interested in having your child attend kindergarten at a school that is outside of your designated neighborhood (residence) school attendance area, please view the School Transfer information on the district website at http://www.everettsd.org/schooltransfers or call 425-385-4070.
Please note: Due to high enrollment, many elementary schools are closed to school transfers. Check the district school transfer website for the most current list of schools that are accepting transfer request submissions.
Kindergarten intradistrict school transfer forms should be completed online using the Online School Transfer Application Form. A paper form is available on request and should be completed and submitted directly to the school you are requesting to attend. While you are waiting for a determination, please enroll your child at your neighborhood school.
