The Communications & Information technology pathway focuses on creativity and problem solving skills to improve people's daily lives through digital technology. This path is for you if you like working with digital tools, creating programs, problem solving systems, and digital media and art.

Jackson High School Communications & Information Technology Program
This program is beginning in 2021 - 2022 at Jackson High School. This program is for you if you are creative, like problem solving through technology, and interested in computer networking and software development. The courses below can be taken in any order for this program.
- Cybersecurity & Networking (JHS only - 2 period course) 10th - 12th (9th accepted with counselor/admin approval)
Students will learn how to stop cyberattacks and work with real world projects with businesses in the community. Students can earn a Comptia and Security Plus Certificate. This course is supported by community partners in Boeing and Emerald Solutions, who provide mentorship and connect students to the business world. We are also partnered with the PUD to offer internships and hands on projects and experiences.

HIGH SCHOOL COURSES CTE DUAL CREDIT (FREE COLLEGE CREDIT)

AP COMPUTER SCIENCE PRINCIPLES AP COMPUTER SCIENCE A (10th-12th) UW College in the High School CYBERSECURITY & NETWORKING (10th-12th) ** 9th accepted with counselor/admin approval Comptia and Security Plus Certificate CTE courses for this pathway are offered at two middle schools and all high schools with 21st century skills that extend from the classroom through Career Technical Students Organizations (CTSOs).
** CTSOs: TSA. Students can earn free college credit through CTE Dual Credits when they earn at least a "C" in the course. Course equivalencies enable students taking CTE courses to satisfy two graduation requirements in a single course.**
