Welcome back!!  We are so excited for the new school year and are so happy you are here with us. This communication is up-to-date information about how Special Services can support you all. Like all of us, we have had to do some shifting this year and all of us have taken on a little bit more responsibility—patience is a virtue!!

    Our Special Services Directors:

Heather Brown is returning to Everett after a 4-year stint as the Early Learning Director in Seattle Public Schools. Along with the schools listed below, she will be supporting our SLPs, Preschools, DHH and VI teams. We are excited about having her return to Everett.

Katy Ramon is new to the position of Special Services Director but not new to Everett. She taught math at Heatherwood before becoming a Facilitator in 2021.  We are so thrilled that she accepted the job as a director. Her main responsibilities include working with the school psychologists, our Transition programs, Safety Net along with the schools outlined below.

Beth Degrace is returning this year and we could not have been happier. She has been an asset to our district as a thoughtful, relational, and practical practitioner. Her main responsibilities include OT/PTs, Achieve Program support, Assessment Coordination, ESY and working with our contract placements.

    Our Facilitators:

Bevin Storla will be supporting schools aligned with Katy’s schools, supporting K-12 programs and students. She will continue to be a source of knowledge for Life Skill curriculum and support the Transition programs.

Aneesa Shaikh will be working with Katy’s network of schools supporting students and staff in the areas of proactive classroom management, FBA, BIP implementation and other issues with dysregulation.

Lindsay Armstrong accepted the job as our Safety Net Facilitator and helps with some case management across the district. She will be working with Katy.

Kat Gomez will work with Heather’s network of schools and continue the work with co-teachers across the district. She will continue to be a source of knowledge for curriculum utilized for resource services.

Sean Williams will be working with Heather’s network of schools and support students and staff in the areas of proactive classroom management, FBA, BIP implementation and other issues with dysregulation.

Bree Duffy will continue to support our lovely early learners Birth-5 by transitioning from 0-2 centers to our preschools. Additionally, she will support our preschool programs. She will be working with Heather’s team.

Michelle Ulke will be working with Beth’s network of schools, as well as supporting elements of the Achieve program across the district.

Pam Stever will be working with schools aligned with Beth and continuing to do the great work with Co-Teaching across the district. She will continue to be a source of knowledge for curriculum utilized for resource services.

I will be supporting Sequoia, Tambark Creek and Woodside, which I am really excited about- to get into schools more and support all you lovely staff.
