Annual Athletic Awards Banquet
The first Everett School District Athletic Banquet was held in the spring of 1962 and sponsored by Walsh-Platt Motors. Construction of Cascade High School was completed the preceding fall. There were 800 students in the sophomore and junior classes on the new campus. The first senior class entered the school the following school year.
With the opening of the new high school, the whole concept of high school athletics in the city of Everett would change. To encourage the continuation of the existing high standard in athletics in both high schools, Walsh-Platt Motors (now Dwayne Lane’s Family of Auto Centers) sponsored the Athlete of the Year scholarship.
In September 1994, the Everett School District opened Henry M. Jackson High School, and the award was expanded to include all three high schools. Last year, we were pleased to uphold this proud tradition with support from the Everett Coaches and Extracurricular Association. In 2025, we were thrilled to continue this tradition with the support of Mill Creek Sports.
At the end of each school year, exceptional student-athletes and their families are invited to the Athletic Awards Banquet. Middle and high school coaches are also invited and recognized for their years of service to our athletic programs. The location of the banquet will rotate annually among the three high schools.
