Dear families –

What a great start to school! 

Did you know we have the largest restaurant in Everett? The first day of school alone, we served 1,614 breakfasts and 7,775 lunches. Not only do we serve lots of meals, but they are nutritious and taste great. 

We also have one of the most comprehensive transportation systems in the area. The buses rolled out at 6 a.m. on September 6 and transported over 14,000 students with 140 bus routes. In addition, we were already serving 23 out-of-district schools for our KIT students.

And, as of the first day of school, every teaching position in the district was filled. That is 591 elementary, 209 middle and 278 high school teachers! 1,078 in total, including 61 new hires and 21 internal transfers.

What a great team we have! Students were learning school and classroom procedures right off the bat and teaching was taking place.

One of the many things I love about being part of this district is the passion staff have to make sure every student is welcomed and engaged, and I appreciate them so much.
