Superintendent's Message, April 1, 2025
-
Dear Everett Public Schools community,
Happy April! Spring is officially here, bringing longer days, blooming flowers, and a well-deserved Spring Break from April 7–11. I hope you all take this time to relax and enjoy time with family and friends. Whether you are traveling, spending time outdoors, or simply catching up on rest, I wish you a fantastic break!
As we move into spring, it is also enrollment season for the 2025-26 school year! If you have a child who will be starting kindergarten, now is the time to get them registered. Children must be 5 years old by midnight on August 31 to enroll. Kindergarten is an exciting milestone, and early registration helps our schools prepare to welcome our newest learners.
Additionally, Choice Programs are open for enrollment, offering unique learning opportunities tailored to different student needs and interests:
- Dual Language – A bilingual Spanish-English program for incoming kindergarten students.
- Lighthouse Cooperative – A parent partnership program that fosters creativity and collaboration.
- Port Gardner K-12 – A flexible learning environment that supports homeschool families.
If you or someone you know is interested in these programs, please visit our Choice Programs webpage for more details and deadlines.
Enjoy the beauty of spring, and I look forward to seeing everyone back after the break, ready to finish the school year strong!
Be safe and be well,
Dr. Ian B. Saltzman
