Dr. Hirman earned her BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, MA Education from Stanford University and PhD in Education Leadership and Policy from Arizona State University. She served in the Peace Corps in West Africa as a secondary math/science teacher and has taught junior high school mathematics in California.  Her previous experience includes policy analyst at the Arizona Board of Regents and research associate at the USC Center on Educational Governance.

Dr. Hirman has been an active volunteer in the Everett School District over the last 10 years, including serving in multiple PTA leadership roles at the local, council and region level. She continues to volunteer with Volunteers of America Western Washington (VOAWW) at the Everett Food Pantry as well as Mill Creek Food Bank and through her local church.  She and her husband live in Mill Creek and have two children who have attended Everett Public Schools.
