Dear families –
What a great fall we have been having! We have seen quality instruction throughout our schools, and families engaged in school events and activities.
Our assessment scores show that our students outperformed the state average at all levels. In 13 of the 17 categories, we outperformed the state by double digits! There has been good work going on and we are going to keep believing that every student can reach proficiency and show growth.
I was very impressed last week as the entire district participated in a Learning Improvement Day focused on equity. As I visited several schools and locations, I saw a lot of solid work going on to support culturally responsive education and working with data to see where improvements can be made. I believe the work done last Friday will have a lasting effect on our district and in kids’ lives. Thank you to all the staff who were so engaged.
I also want to wish you a happy fall and a safe and happy Halloween!
Be safe and be well,
Dr. Ian B. Saltzman, Superintendent
