Will your child be 5 by midnight on August 31, 2024? Now is the time to enroll your child for Kindergarten.
Kindergarten enrollment (for current 2024-2025 year) is open - enroll online, an easy and fast process, and upload the required documentation or fill out an enrollment packet and deliver it to your child's home school with the required documentation. If you prefer to enroll in person, please find your homeschool and contact them to make an appointment.
Visit the Schools Transfers page for information about school transfer to a school outside your resident address and/or to submit the online school transfer application form.

Kindergarten Enrollment for next fall opens on the first Monday in March
To enroll your child in kindergarten that begins in the fall of the year, your child must be five (5) years of age by August 31 of that school year. This is the Washington State uniform entry age. If they meet this age requirement, families can enroll their student online or in-person at their neighborhood school. Everett Public Schools (EPS) does not offer an early entrance to kindergarten option for students who turn 5 after August 31.
EPS offers options for students prior to kindergarten, including ECEAP Preschool, Play and Learn, and Transitional Kindergarten. For students who are academically gifted, the highly capable program offers testing and services beginning in kindergarten.
All Everett kindergarten programs participate in WaKIDS: Washington Kindergarten Inventory of Developing Skills. WaKIDS is a process for welcoming students and their families to kindergarten, and for assessing children's strengths and development. During the first three days of the school year, each family - children and parents/guardians - participates in a Family Connection conference with the teacher. The meeting provides time for the teacher to get to know the student and family as they begin the kindergarten year.
