Employee Compensation and Certification
-
The Employee Certification and Compensation (C&C) team is here to help you navigate your pay and elements of your education and experience that have a direct impact to your placement on your position’s salary schedule. Different groups have different rules and documents as to how your placement is determined. Upon hire, you should have received documentation pertinent to your position requesting any documentation that could determine your placement.
If you have questions regarding your hours assigned, your salary placement, or should any other contracted compensation question arise during the course of your employment, please reach out to our team which currently supports staff according to the following grid:

My certificate needs to be updated - what do I need to do?
You may not work in the classroom with an expired certificate. Please take early action to complete the necessary requirements to renew your application with OSPI. OSPI can take several weeks to process, especially at the beginning of a school year. Once your certificate has been updated, you are responsible for forwarding a copy to the Compensation and Certification team (hrrecords@everettsd.org). Visit the Certification page for more information.

When are pay days?
Everett Public Schools issues their regular pay days on the final business day of every month. A complete schedule of pay dates can be found on the payroll calendar located here: Current Payroll Calendar
-
Will I get paychecks during the summer months if I don't work during the summer?
If your calendar ends on the last school day in June, you are considered a "School Term" employee. This means you don't have any work days in July and possibly August. However, your annual salary is prorated over the summer months. For example, if you work in a position that pays you $60,000 annually, you will receive $5,000 each month of the school year (gross pay).
Or if you are paid an hourly wage, the rate is annualized, and then prorated. For example, for a position earning $22.00 per hour, for 194 school days at 7 hours/day ($22x194x7) annualized is $29,876 - then prorated to 12 months is $2,490 each month (gross pay).
-
How is my pay rate determined?
All pay scales are either negotiated as part of a collectively bargained group contract, or pre-approved by the Everett Public Schools Board of Directors. When you are hired for a certain position in the district, you are placed on the salary schedule associated with the position. You will receive a document from your compensation analyst each year, that confirms your placement on the pay schedule for the upcoming school year.
