Everett Public Schools’ workers compensation coverage is provided through the Puget Sound Workers Compensation Trust. If an employee experiences a work-related injury or incident, it can be reported directly to them to begin the claims process. Everett Public Schools is committed to fostering a safe and supportive work environment, and we take employee health seriously—providing resources to help guide staff through injury recovery, benefits coordination, and return-to-work support.
If you are injured at work:
- In the case of a life-threatening event, call 911.
- To report the incident and start a claim, call the Nurse Triage Line at 833-928-6877 or Report the Incident Online.
Work Injury FAQs
-
What if I need to see a doctor?
- You may choose your own doctor/medical provider for your first treatment visit. However, ongoing treatment of your injury must be from a state-approved medical provider.
- To find a provider go to: State L&I Search for Medical Providers
-
What if I can't work because of my injury?
- Contact your Benefit Technician to start the L&I Leave of absence process
-
How will I be paid if I'm restricted from work because of my work injury?
- If your doctor certifies you are unable to work due to the work related injury Puget Sound Workers Compensation may pay for a portion of your lost wages, called "time‑loss compensation."
- Time-loss compensation payments will not be as much as your regular paycheck but 60% to 75% of the wage you were earning, depending on how many dependents you have.
- You will be provided a "Time Loss Form" by your Benefit Technician to let the district know if you wish to use some of your own accrued leave to supplement the time loss compensation
